House for two artists by M + N Arquitectos

A glass bridge connects a concrete house with wonky windows to an artist’s studio in Puebla, Mexico.

Two artists reside and work in the house, which was completed by Mexican studio M + N Arquitectos in 2010.

Walls of barefaced concrete surround both the inside and outside of the only bedroom, where a narrow window wraps around one corner.

Concrete-framed windows elsewhere in the house are angled towards specific views of the surrounding landscape and sky.

If artists studios interest you, you may want to check out our recent special feature all about them.

Great setup with repeatable results

I have had the Mast-R-Lift II complete table system for about 6 or 7 monthes, and feel like it is time to do a review on it after using it extensivly. The package I got came with the stand, the table top, the fence, the mast-R-lift II router lift, power tek switch, reducing rings, and 4 parrallegram feather boards. To set up this whole system and get everything aligned took about 4 hours.

The stand is very sturdy and made of thicker material than the run of the mill open angle iron stand. There are independently adjustable rubber foot on all the legs so it can be leveled perfectly.

Office Makeover: Finished Fabric Corkboards

I thought that these would never be finished. Heres a project for the office that I started a couple of months ago and have finally completed!

I was really wanting a set of custom corkboards for behind the desk so that I could hang inspirational images, fabric swatches, photos of Liv, and maybe even a work pie chart in there somewhere.

The frames were built from scratch out of engineered wood molding, the corkboards were upcycled from cork placemats from the Goodwill, the fabric is a beautiful Thomas Paul print from Calico Corners (found here) and the time and energy to assemble should have taken a few days tops but, sigh, it took a bit longer than that.
