My tansy plant didn’t flower therefore no seeds to drop as a normal perenial. I forgot about what I had put in that pot and it got shaded by a giant marigold in pot next to it. Should I bring it indoors for the winter and trust it will flower next year?

Doug says if you started it from seed (or the nursery did) this year then it may not flower in the first year. It should flower in the second year though.

You’d be better off digging it into the garden somewhere for the winter and digging it up again next spring to repot.

It needs dormancy to set blooms so bringing it indoors and keeping it alive growing all winter isn’t a great tactic. It “may” give you a bloom but then die – or it might not give you a bloom and simply fade away next spring anyway.

Hope that helps.
